Pet Travel Certificates in Ottawa
Travelling with your pet? Vetter Pet Care provides certified health certificates and expert guidance.
Stress-Free Travel Starts with Proper Preparation
Travelling with your pet can be exciting, but it also comes with important health and documentation requirements. At Vetter Pet Care, we help make the process clear and supportive. Our team ensures your pet is healthy for travel and provides the necessary health certificate, while offering guidance and resources to help you navigate travel requirements safely and confidently.
Do You Need a Health Certificate for Your Pet?
Requirements vary depending on where you’re going:
- International travel: Most countries require a Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)–endorsed health certificate, signed by both a licensed Vetter Pet Care veterinarian and a CFIA veterinarian within 10–14 days of departure.
- Travel within Canada: You generally only need up-to-date, veterinarian-signed vaccination records.
Because regulations change often, we recommend verifying your destination’s current guidelines well in advance.
Safe Travels: Pet Health Certificates
Travelling with your pet takes careful planning. At Vetter Pet Care, we provide travel certificates to confirm your pet is healthy for their journey. During the appointment, a veterinarian will perform a full physical exam, review vaccination history, microchip status, and parasite prevention, and issue a health certificate.
Because rules and requirements are constantly changing and depend on the destination and the airline, we ask pet parents to review the CFIA guidelines and confirm any airline-specific requirements well in advance. Some countries may also require rabies titers, additional evaluations, or even quarantine.
While we provide the health assessment and certificate, pet parents are responsible for planning ahead and ensuring all travel documents are complete.
Important Notes
- Export requirements can change with little notice.
- Planning ahead helps you prepare for potential delays, additional fees, or quarantine requirements.
- Bringing all travel documents or forms provided by your destination will help us prepare your certificate efficiently.
Our goal is to make your travel experience as smooth and stress-free as possible — for both you and your pet.
