When Something Isn’t Right, We’re Here to Help
Pets can’t tell us when they’re not feeling well — but you know when something is off. At Vetter Pet Care, our Sick Appointments are designed to provide thoughtful, timely care for dogs and cats experiencing new or worsening symptoms. Whether it’s a subtle change or a sudden concern, we’re here to uncover the cause and help your pet feel better as quickly and comfortably as possible.
Our approach is calm, collaborative, and grounded in compassionate medicine — because your peace of mind matters just as much as your pet’s health.
Common Reasons to Book a Sick Appointment
If your pet is experiencing any of the following, a Sick Appointment is the right first step:
- Vomiting (two episodes or fewer)
- Vomiting or diarrhea lasting more than three weeks
- Itchiness, skin irritation, hair loss, rashes, or allergies
- Ear concerns or discomfort
- Urinary issues, including over-grooming of the genital area, blood in the urine, increased urination, or accidents
- Coughing or sneezing
- Limping or stiffness
- Unexplained weight gain
- Scooting
- New or changing masses or lumps
- Behavioural changes or increased anxiety
- Bad breath
No concern is too small — if something feels off, we’re happy to take a closer look.
What Happens During Your Visit
During a Sick Appointment, our medical team will:
- Review your pet’s symptoms and medical history
- Perform a thorough physical examination
- Recommend diagnostic testing if helpful, such as bloodwork, urinalysis, X-rays, or ultrasound
- Create a personalized treatment plan designed to support comfort and recovery
Every step is guided by transparency, clear communication, and respect for both you and your pet.
Not Sure Whether It’s Urgent or Routine?
If you’re unsure what type of appointment your pet needs, just call us. We’ll help determine the best next step, whether that’s a Sick Appointment, Urgent Care visit, or referral to an emergency hospital.
