End-of-Life Care
For compassionate and peaceful goodbyes, Vetter Pet Care offers gentle end-of-life support for beloved pets.
Compassion, Comfort, and Support When It Matters Most
Saying goodbye to a beloved companion is one of the hardest moments we face as pet parents. At Vetter Pet Care, we’re here to walk with you through every step — with empathy, clarity, and deep respect for the bond you share. Our goal is to create a peaceful, meaningful experience that honours your pet’s life and supports your family during this emotional time. We believe end-of-life care should be gentle, private, and surrounded by love.
A Calm, Comforting Space: The Iris Room
Our clinic includes a dedicated comfort room — the Iris Room — designed to bring the warmth and privacy of home into our space. With soft lighting, cozy seating, and a peaceful atmosphere, it provides a quiet setting where families can be together during their final moments. Inspired by the Spanish word arcoíris (rainbow), the Iris Room symbolizes the journey across the Rainbow Bridge.
Our End-of-Life Services Include:
- Pain management
- Comfort-focused treatment
- Quality-of-life discussions
- When the time comes, euthanasia is performed with gentleness and respect.
Every decision is made together, at your pace, and with your pet’s well-being at heart.
Who Can Access This Service?
We provide end-of-life care for established patients with an existing veterinarian-client relationship. If it’s your first visit, or if your pet hasn’t been seen in a long time, we will schedule a wellness exam before or at the start of the appointment. This ensures we fully understand your pet’s condition and can support you with honesty and clarity.
Aftercare Options
We partner with a trusted cremation service provider and offer:
- Individual cremation
- Communal cremation
Our team will walk you through each option and help you choose what feels right for your family.
A Special Tradition at Vetter Pet Care
Each October, we celebrate Día de Muertos, a cherished Mexican tradition honouring loved ones who have passed. We create a small ofrenda at the clinic to remember the pets who’ve crossed the Rainbow Bridge, inviting families to share a photo or memento if they wish. Participation is always optional — it’s simply a heartfelt way to honour the animals who have touched our lives.
You’re Not Alone
End-of-life decisions are never easy, but you don’t have to navigate them by yourself. We’re here to support you with compassion, transparency, and love.
You don’t have to go through this moment alone. We are honoured to be here for you.
